Ubuntu７．０４jaでマルチディスプレイにした思い出です（詳細な手順はないので「思い出」ということで・・・）。
ついでに beryl も少し。
まず環境から。
CPU：AMD Athlon(tm) 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 3800+
メモリ：２G
モニタ１：LGの２２型ワイド液晶 １６８０×１０５０で使用
グラボ１：nvidia GeForce 6600 GT
モニタ２：SHARPの１９型液晶 １２８０×１０２４で使用
グラボ２：ATI Radeon 9200 PRO
OS：Ubuntu 7.04 ja （ubuntu-ja-7.04-desktop-i386.iso使用）
こんなもんでよいかな？
じゃ、思い出を書きます。これらを全てやらないとできないわけじゃなくて、私がOSインストールからマルチディスプレイに至るまでの全部なので、参考にしたい方がいたら、適当にかいつまんで参考にしてくださいね・c・
＠まずはインストール
１．OSインストール
ubuntu-ja-7.04-desktop-i386.isoを焼いたディスクで特に変わったことはせずインストールする。
＠インストール完了後に更新とかいろいろ
ちなみにこの時点ではRadeonの方のディスプレイで１０２４×７６８で表示されています。
１．システム管理＞アップデートマネージャ で更新
２．システム管理＞日本語版セットアップヘルパ で欲しいのげっつ
＠berylを動かしてみる
マルチディスプレイにするとberylが動かないかも。てか動かない。動かしたい。。。
なので、いまのうちに楽しんでおくw
１．下のリンクを参考に設定しました。
Berylを動作させるには？（ATi編）
wgetのコマンドが動かなかったが、たぶんOと0の違いかなw
動いたら楽しんでおきます。
２．解像度を変える。
１０２４×７６８で表示されているので、１２８０×１０２４に変えます。
sudo gedit /etc/X11/xorg.conf
で設定を開き、
下のような感じで HorizSync、VertRefreshを変えて、Modesに”1280×1024″を加えます。
保存したら、CTRL+ALT+Backspaceでウィンドウマネージャ？を再起動してあげればたぶんいけてます。

３．ここまできたら、xorg.confを別に保存しとく
Radeonはこれで表示できそうですので、適当なところにxorg.confをコピーしておきます。
＠nvidiaのドライバを入れる。
１．よくわからないので、便利なEnvyを使います
nvidiaとATIのグラボの設定を勝手にやってくれるEnvyっていう素晴らしいのがあるのでそれを使わせてもらいます。
サイトにいって、こういうの→「envy_0.9.5-0ubuntu5_all.deb」をダウンロードして、実行します。
インストーラーになってるので、インストールは簡単！
あとはメッセージにしたがって「はい」「はい」ってやれば再起動してOK
２．私の場合ここでウィンドウマネージャが起動しなくなった。
起動しなかったので、CUIで、xorg.confのバックアップ（/etc/X11/にある）から復帰させて startx で起動。
もういちどenvyでnvidiaのドライバをインストールしたらOKでした。
３．インストールと設定に成功すると、nvidia側のディスプレイで表示されるようになる。
逆にRadeonの方は表示されません。
４．アプリケーション＞システムツール＞nvidia setting で解像度を１６８０×１０５０に設定して、設定ファイルを適当なところに保存する。
設定ツールはWindowsみたいな感じで設定できます。
できればここで２つの画面が設定できちゃうといいんですけどねぇw
＠では、設定ファイルは整ったのでマージしましょうw
詳しい人はこんなことしなくても直接xorg.confを書けるんでしょうが、書き方とかわからないのでこんな方法になってしまいましたが、とりあえず どちらのグラボとモニターでも表示できる設定はゲットしたので、これをマージします。
１．保存しておいたRadeon用とnvidia用のxorg.confを開いて、”Device”と”Monitor”と”Screen”をどっちかにマージする。
”Screen”の Identifierを Screen0 と Screen1にする。
２．”ServerLayout”を

にする。
３．そして、ウィンドウマネージャを再起動。
４．できたー
となるといいですね。
私のところでマルチディスプレイで動いてるxorg.confです。
なんともつぎはぎな感じがしますがw そのうち詳しくなったらきれいにしよう。。。
ちなみに、マルチディスプレイにするとberylが使えてません。これはまた次の課題で・・。
